In just one hour, we played a game, shared the Tanabata love story, festival facts, and more! It was an amazing chance to connect and learn together — and wow, your feedback made us smile like crazy!

💬 What You Loved

Here’s what some of our lovely guests had to say:

🌠 “I finally understood what Tanabata is all about — I only knew it as the anime ‘wish festival’ before!” 🍡 “The story and even the food part were super interesting!” 🎤 “Miss Yayoi’s voice is sooo calming and nice~” 💡 “It was short, sweet, and I actually learned a lot in just one hour!” 🌸 “Everyone was so friendly, and I loved hearing real Japanese spoken during the session.” 🎉 “It felt fun, relaxed, and the instructors were humble and practical — can’t believe it was free!”

The Tanabata Story

🌈 What Made It Special

  • Super friendly hosts (shoutout to our warm and wonderful speakers!)

  • Simple, easy-to-follow content — no pressure, just learning and fun

  • A perfect 1-hour format that fits your busy life

  • Real Japanese culture + language shared in a relaxed, cozy setting

  • An amazing 4.9/5 satisfaction rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🌟 We Made Wishes Too!

At the end of the session, we invited everyone to write their own Tanabata wishes, just like people do in Japan! 💌 Our team translated each wish into Japanese and “hung” them on a virtual bamboo tree — wishing from the heart that they all come true. 🌿✨

Wishes from our participants were displayed on a virtual bamboo tree.

It was a beautiful way to wrap up the night and connect across cultures through shared hope and joy.

💖 Thank You for Being Part of It!

Whether you came for the language, the culture, or the community, we’re so happy to support your Nihongo journey and your love for all things Japan.

Keep wishing on stars, and we hope to see you at the next DCEC NC Web Cafe! 🌟
