People around the world see different shapes on the moon. đ đ§đ»ââïžđ In the West, many say they spot a âman in the moon.â
đłđž In some parts of Asia, others see a toad or a tree.
đđĄ But in Japan, itâs a rabbit pounding mochi. This fluffy friend took center stage in our latest Web Cafe!
This Septemberâs FREE Web Cafe explored everything moon-themedâfrom the beauty of the Harvest Moon to the timeless folktale of Princess Kaguya, and of course, the global phenomenon Sailor Moon. We even chatted about sweet traditions like enjoying dango while moon-viewing. đđĄâš
đŹ What participants said
âThe anime topics like Sailor Moon kept it fun. All the topics were engaging!â
âIkeda-san did such a great job facilitating the breakout rooms. The slides were cute, easy to follow, and she even translated them into English so everyone could join the flow.â
âI really enjoyed meeting native speakers and practicing listening. The mix of folktales and anime made the experience both fun and cultural.â
One participant even suggested having short reading materials ahead of time so learners can prepare for the discussionâgreat feedback weâll keep in mind! đ
